Chumash Pictographs, invite only. 02/27/13

Some time ago I was given information regarding the location of some pictographs in San Luis Obispo County. Those of you that follow this blog know I've been spending a lot of time up on the Carrizo Plain and it might seem logical to link this day with my recent wanderings up that way...don't get carried away with that thought. There are literally over a thousand Chumash sites in SLO County. That area is outside my normal range and all that driving can get tiresome and expensive. However, it's not every day that somebody provides me with this type of beta and the proper thing to do when that happens is to act on it. And that is how I found myself behind the wheel for another long haul northward. The art posted here involved some work to arrive at, and took even further effort poking my head in holes and scrounging around until I was confident that I'd seen what there was to see. Sorry folks, this is another of those sites that I must keep in trust. Enjoy the photos.

  2. Devlin,
I believe I did run across a painting that bears a strong resemblance to Picasso's ink drawings of Don Quixote and Sancho Panza. -DS
