I used to park my truck at the Frasier Park fire station and ride the motorcycle trail to salt creek 4-wheel drive trail. I don't exactly remember the exact route, but I would ride up the old 4-wheel drive trail in the canyon to the cabin. No way a 4-wheel could have made it at that time. Was such a cool place to get away from everything. I remember an old pedal pusher sewing machine and some old tractor parts that were there. Also old newspapers there from the 1950's. Can't help but admire the hard work and ingenuity these old timers put into these mines.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17749256646783054788noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725929327956365942.post-61775777204989454292017-09-23T21:09:47.409-07:002017-09-23T21:09:47.409-07:00It is funny you use that phrase. My Grandpa worked for ARCO on Wheeler ridge he would take the old guy supplies and visit him when hunting on San Emideo ranch. He was found dead around 1976 or 77 and my Dad and my Grandpa were going to purchase the claim from the Estate. A coworker overheard my Grandpa talking about it and beat them to it (basically claim jumped). My Grandpa regretted not moving faster on the deal as the whole family would really have enjoyed working the claim.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02793945167261524882noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7725929327956365942.post-74043606301383097752014-10-10T18:25:28.990-07:002014-10-10T18:25:28.990-07:00Another nice day for you!
