My wife Ruth somehow found out about a neat park in Thousand Oaks called Wildwood. This is an "open-space" area to the north of town (take Lynn Rd to Avenida de Los Arboles and go left). This is a scenic few miles of rolling grassland, crisscrossed with several miles of nice, open trail. These trails are suitable for running and biking and the trails are even kid friendly. I am not, as you know, an urban hiker, so this place was a nice surprise. It is essentially the same as visiting Malibu Creek State Park, but with a nicer landscape, better views, and a fraction of the people. Everything is green right now and the creek is flowing. If you want a nice afternoon of outdoor exercise on the edge of an urban area, I have to give this place a thumbs up.
